Carabeo Beach is kind of hidden from view because of the cliffs that surround it, but you can easily find it walking down Calle Carabeo from the center of Nerja. To access the beach you will need to use a set of very steep steps to walk down into this cove surrounded by massive rocks on both sides.

The Balcón de Europa was built on the site of an old 9th century Moorish fortress. This fortress was a gun battery known as ?La Batería?. In 1882, the British opened fire and destroyed the fortress. The only thing that is really left are two cannons located on the circular plaza at the end of the balcony.

The Nerja Caves have large amounts of stalagmites and stalactites. Not only does it have an extensive cave system, but it is home of the world?s largest column. A column is formed by the merging of a stalagmite and a stalactite. It is measured as 32m in height and 13.7m at its base. It has held this Guinness World Record since 1989.

Playa El Chorrillo is made up of three small coves that are kind of difficult to get to because there are high rocks everywhere. The only way to access this beach is from Calahonda Beach, located right next to Balcón de Europa, which you can see in th distance. You must be adventurous and climb over and through some rocks, depending if the tide is out. If the tide is high, this will cause the water level to be elevated and you won?t be able to access these small coves.
